Through the 4ESO+Empresa program, IMDEA Nanociencia brings the research profession closer to students

- IMDEA Nanoscience is hosting six students from various schools through the 4ESO+Empresa program.
- For a week, the students have been immersed in research activities, under the guidance of scientists from IMDEA Nanociencia.

Madrid, 27 de marzo, 2026. Yesterday, Thursday, the 4th-Year Secondary School + Business program came to a close at IMDEA Nanociencia. The program aims to introduce secondary school students to the scientific ecosystem by having them actively participate in the various research projects currently underway across a range of disciplines.
Durante tres días, 6 alumnos procedentes de los centros educativos madrileños IES Ramiro de Maetzu, el IES Francisco Ayala, el IES Villablanca y el Colegio Alkor han podido familiarizarse con conceptos científicos como la química de materiales de baja dimensión, los láseres de THZ, la nanomedicina o las estructuras luminosas emulsionadas. Han colaborado los grupos de investigación de IMDEA Nanociencia "Nucleic Acids and Nanoparticles in Nanomedicine", "Nanostructured Photovoltaics ", "Pump-probe Photoinduced Absorption Spectroscopies", "Technological and Biomedical Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles", "Chemistry of Low Dimensional Materials", "Intracellular Temperature Measurements", y "Biosensors in Neuroscience ".
After working in each assigned laboratory, the students prepared unique presentations that highlighted what they had learned during the week, the questions that had arisen, and their reflections on how they envision their professional future in the world of science. The participants in this year’s program were very satisfied with how smoothly the activities went, the hospitality they received from the center, and the extensive knowledge they gained about nanoscience.
