Prof. Alberto Bollero at the Critical Raw Materials Round Table "Las tierras raras canarias, a debate"
Next October 2022, the Canary Islands will host a round table with the heads of research programs on strategic raw materials, such as rare earths, in the United States, Europe and Japan. The University of La Laguna will be in charge of hosting this international meeting, within the framework of the Shift 2022 Congress to be held from October 10th to 14th. The event will feature a round table on rare earths with the participation of Spanish experts in the sector such as Alberto Bollero from IMDEA Nanociencia in Madrid and José Luis Costa Kramer from INM-CSIC; and international experts such as Tom Lograsso, director of the Critical Materials Institute (CMI) in the United States; Frances Wall, from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, Pier Luigi Franceschini, from the Raw Materials Innovation Hub to represent Europe and Kentaro Nakamura, from the University of Tokyo. The experts will discuss the need for strategic materials in key sectors such as information technology, energy and transport in order to comply with the European Green Deal.
